About The Pizza Press
The Pizza Press, located at 1700 S Harbor Blvd in Anaheim, California, is a distinctive restaurant that offers a nostalgic dining experience centered around pizza, beer, and more, all served within a casual setting inspired by the 1920s. Since opening its doors in 2012, just across from Disneyland, The Pizza Press has carved out a unique niche in the fast-casual dining scene by combining high-quality food with an immersive atmosphere that pays homage to the golden age of newspapers and the industrial progress of early 20th-century America[1][3][6].
The concept behind The Pizza Press is deeply rooted in its thematic inspiration: the printing press era of the 1920s. This theme is not only reflected in the décor—featuring vintage newspaper clippings, exposed brick, wood façades, and ornate millwork—but also cleverly integrated into the menu and overall customer experience. The restaurant’s name itself is a play on words, referencing both the traditional printing press and the pressing of pizza dough, which is a key part of their pizza-making process[1][3][5]. Menu items are named after common newspaper titles such as “The Times,” “The Tribune,” and “The Chronicle,” reinforcing the nostalgic newspaper motif and creating a memorable dining experience that goes beyond just food[1][6].
The Pizza Press offers a build-your-own pizza model that allows guests to customize their pizzas with a wide variety of fresh toppings, alongside a selection of signature pizzas. This approach aligns with the modern fast-casual trend but is elevated by the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients, exceptional service, and a welcoming environment suitable for all ages. The founder, Dara Maleki, envisioned The Pizza Press as more than just a place to eat; it is designed to be a comfortable gathering spot for families, friends, and individuals alike, reminiscent of the community spirit fostered by newspapers in the past[2][4].
Beyond pizza, The Pizza Press also serves salads and offers a curated selection of craft beers on tap, enhancing the dining options and appealing to a broad audience. The restaurant’s atmosphere is intentionally crafted to be inclusive and inviting, avoiding the typical franchise feel by focusing on creating a culture and experience that customers appreciate and return to[2][4]. The original Anaheim location’s historic building, with its brick exterior and vintage details, adds to the authenticity and charm, making it a local landmark in the Anaheim Resort District[5][6].
The Pizza Press has expanded beyond its flagship Anaheim location, with additional stores opening in nearby cities and plans for further growth. Despite this expansion, the brand maintains its core values of quality, service, and a unique thematic experience that sets it apart from other pizza restaurants. The company’s dedication to blending nostalgia, creativity, and community connection continues to resonate with customers, making The Pizza Press a beloved destination for both locals and visitors[1][3][4].
For those seeking a pizza restaurant that offers more than just a meal, The Pizza Press provides a distinctive blend of history, flavor, and atmosphere. Whether dining in or taking out, guests can enjoy handcrafted pizzas, fresh salads, and a selection of beers in a setting that transports them back to a bygone era of American culture, all while experiencing the warmth of excellent customer service. The Pizza Press stands as a testament to how thoughtful design and a strong concept can elevate a casual dining experience into something truly special. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a great experience here after a long day at Disneyland! The service was excellent from the moment we walked in. The gentleman making the pizzas greeted us with a smile, welcomed us in, and took the time to ask if we had any questions about the menu. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, a meat lovers pizza, cheese bread, boneless wings, and bone-in wings. Everything was fresh and delicious! My grandson especially loved the plain boneless wings—he kept calling them “the best nuggets ever!” The restaurant was very busy, even late at night, which isn’t surprising since it’s conveniently located right across from Disneyland. Despite the crowd, there was plenty of seating with large booths, tables, and chairs. It has a very comfortable, casual atmosphere that’s perfect for families, and it’s definitely child-friendly. If you’re looking for a relaxed place with good pizza and friendly service after a day at the parks, this is a great choice. We’d definitely come back!

This is our go to place when visiting Disneyland. It is right down the road from our favorite hotel. Food is tasty. Staff is friendly. The restaurant itself is not too flashy, but has plenty of seating. The wings and pizza are good.

I was visiting from Canada, and when it came time to pay, my credit card wouldn’t go through at the register. The two wonderful girls working there were so nice, understanding, and accommodating. When they saw I was stuck, one of the employees—whose name was Bryanna—kindly offered me a free pizza so I wouldn't go hungry!I was completely blown away by their exceptional care and hospitality. It is rare to find such genuinely kind people working in food service. Thank you so much, Bryanna, and to your awesome coworker, for turning a stressful moment into a great memory. I will definitely be coming back here whenever I am in the area!

After a long day at Disney, we just wanted something quick and easy. The pizza was good and our food came out fast. The pizzas are thin crust. The draft beers were a plus

🍕 The Pizza Press – Anaheim (Near Disneyland) Location: Right on Harbor Blvd & Disney Way, across from the Disneyland drop-off area and main entrance. On the north side, you’ll see Grand Legacy Hotel, and The Pizza Press is right next to The Anaheim Hotel, even connected through a small indoor hallway. Parking: Turn right from Harbor Blvd into the lot — left side is for The Pizza Press, right side leads to The Anaheim Hotel parking. Super convenient! Atmosphere: Spacious interior with around 20–25 tables, and there’s also a nice outdoor patio where you can enjoy your pizza and people-watch. Great for both small and large groups. Ordering Process: Similar to Blaze Pizza or Pieology — you can build your own pizza or choose from their signature pies. One thing to note: they don’t offer a mini/single-size pizza, which might be a downside for solo eaters. Service & Food: When I visited, there were about 3–4 people ahead of me, and my pizza came out in 4–5 minutes — super fast! Staff were friendly and efficient. Pizza quality was decent to above average, and the overall experience was great — quick service, tasty pizza, and clean space. ⭐ Overall: A solid 4.5-star spot for a quick
